It is yet another sad moment for Kenyans as another politician losses a battle to a long illness. The Bomet governor Joyce Laboso was one of the three female governors elected in Kenya for the first time in the last general election. The demise comes shortly after the loss of Kibra MP Ken Okoth.
In a statement released earlier the governor was placed on bed rest by her doctor at the Nairobi hospital. She had been in the Intensive Care unit for the past two weeks. Prior to that she had been undergoing treatment in India for an undisclosed condition. She died at the age of 58.
Governor Joyce Laboso was elected by majority in the 2017 elections as the Governor of Bomet county. Residents have expresswed their sorrow over the loss of their governor. Kenyans continue to offer their condolences to the family and friends of the late leader. May her soul rest in peace.
